Glen Kissling

Huntingburg Common Council

Glen has served as Councilman for Precinct 1 since 2012. He has been married to his wife Connie Wendholt Kissling since May 1974 and they have two daughters, Stacie Vaal and Becky Messmer.  They also have three grandchildren.

Glen graduated from Holland High School in 1972 and Indiana Vocational Ivy Tech. He is the son of the late Violet and Jesse Kissling of Holland. Glen has been employed at Steinkamp Warehouse since 1974. He is currently the purchasing agent for commodity building material and the wholesale sales manager of building material for the Midwest.

Glen's community involvement includes:

  • Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department Member since 1981, including 20 years as Fire Chief and recipient of the Chic Carson Award (Firefighter of the Year), Retired in February 2023
  • Charter Board of Directors member of The Dubois County Home Builders Association, where he served as Secretary
  • Received the Jaycee Outstanding Young Hoosier award and the Good Samaritan award from the Fraternal Order of Police
  • Coach for Huntingburg Girls Softball and was instrumental in adopting fast pitch in the system
  • Served as president of The Southridge Aquatic Raider Gators Swim Team
  • Member of St. Mary's Church, Huntingburg YMI, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Sons of Legion, VFW Auxiliary and Huntingburg Country Club
